LEED Gold Certified Building
Camp Withycombe is a two-story, $72-million Fast-Track Design-Build project. This facility is Oregon's largest military facility to date, and was recently awarded LEED Gold Certification. The program required the organization of nine units of the Oregon National Guard's 41st Infantry Brigade and eight units of the U.S. Army Reserve into a 250,000 sq/ft. Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC).
At approximately 50% design completion, the project obtained permits and started pouring the concrete footings, foundations, and installing the structural steel. We were able to shave over four months off of the construction time by continuing to design one step ahead of the construction schedule for this Phased Design-Build process.
Members of our team also designed and coordinated the sitework, including security perimeter fencing, a guardhouse, private roadways, and parking. A new memorial forecourt to honor the veterans of the 41st Infantry Division is a major feature of the landscape design.
